I had a plan for this series. It was going to be four weeks of daily diet analysis (week 1 here). Telling you all about the amazing progress I was making on the Carnivore Diet, how incredible I feel, how everyone in the world needs to convert right now and heal their every ailment. Instead, week 2 begins and ends with day 1.

Guess I Should Add My Disclaimer…I’m no doctor or expert. I’m not saying you should listen to any of my advice. I’m also not saying you should ask your doctor, because I think the large majority of them want to do nothing but slap a pill on your symptoms. However, I do urge you to use that noggin’ of yours and make up your own mind on whether you want to talk to a doctor or do your own research or whatever. Lawyers come at me.

Day 1

I wake up and my entire lower back hurts like a motha. I’m a now getting rather nervous what the hell is happening to my kidneys/insides. Then…it hits. The shits come on like I have never experienced. I literally have to text my boss and tell him I’m not making it to the company meeting because I can’t get off the bowl (I worded it slightly differently to him). This “experience” has me panicked. So I decide that’s it. I am getting carbs into my body immediately. The only thing I have left in the house is some frozen blueberries so I heat some up in a sauce pan with some cinnamon. OH MY GOD it is the best thing I ever ate in my life. Seriously.

So that’s it. The Carnivore Diet broke me in a week. From here I decided I’m going to try to stick mostly to the Carnivore Diet, but I am going to incorporate some fermented veggies and some in season fruit for carbs. Perhaps if you are coming from doing Keto already it is a better transition, but I think it was too much for me. I would definitely take and recommend a more gradual approach. It took several more days for my back pain to subside. As always, you should use caution when trying extreme diets, and listen to your body when it tells you to stop.
