The journey just started. And I’m lost!
No this won’t be another “how to start your blog and start making money” tutorial that you see all over the place. Because to be honest with you, I have no idea. But I did want to take people along on a real life journey of getting one going (or not).
Getting the site put together was the easy part…
Again, I’m not here to tell you the steps. There are a millions pages already doing that. My experience though, is what seemed to be the complicated part in hindsight so far seems to be the easy part. Go to WordPress, pick a template, start writing (more or less).
SEO’s…Analytics…Google…huh?!
I have some basic understanding that I need these things involved to actually get traffic to the blog. But I’m starting to feel like my brain isn’t firing on all cylinders because no matter how many tutorials on this I read, it’s like reading Hieroglyphics. Keywords? Where?? I’m pretty sure I installed some SEO app or whatever, but it’s either not turned on or I’m missing some major steps. I think.
Speaking of traffic, door’s open but no one is home.
So yeah, no one is even here reading this yet (hopefully “yet”). My insights say I have 7 page views with an immediate bounce rate. It’s like no one could even decide my blog was that bad that fast. I honestly think my page views are just me? If that’s possible? Or does it eliminate me from the numbers?
Maybe I need more content, but I barely started and have writers block already!
Maybe I’m not showing up because I don’t have much posted. I’m already stuck on ideas. How the hell am I going to keep a blog going??
